He-Man and the Masters of the Universe is alive and well at Mattel, with their retro series and recently launched Revelations toy line (see our story HERE) delivering the fantasy figures to fans. Today, the toy company announces that a third line of Masters of the Universe figures is on the way, this time based on another new animated series premiering globally on September 16 on Netflix.

Called He-Man and the Masters of the Universe (but of course!), the new animated series “brings a fresh stylized take on the world of Eternia, designed to reflect the sensibilities and aspirations of today’s kids, while celebrating the evergreen core truth of Masters of the Universe: we all have the power to become the best version of ourselves.”

Regarding the new MOTU toy line, the collection features both classic and never-before-seen characters. Each articulated figure comes with an attack feature and/or projectile that fans can power themselves for even more imaginative storytelling. He-Man and Skeletor can race into action with The Masters of the Universe Vehicle Pack or engage in head-to-head battle using the Snake Mountain Throne playset.

Hitting retail this October, the He-Man and the Masters of the Universe figure line includes:

This looks off to me, but I’m 42. So my opinion is obsolete these days.

This has a strong late Max Steel vibe to it. Is it the same design team behind this?

The character design sure feels like they were inspired by those online games that have commercials on Youtube.

Jeff Matsuda did the designs i believe. He’s done this style since the 90s( see late 90s x-factor and his comic Kaboom!)
As a fan I’m totally into it. The new show was a cool fresh take on the lore
