When you’re a serious Alien collector like myself, you start seeking out unique collectibles to show off your fandom. Don’t get me wrong, you can never have enough awesome, realistically sculpted xenomorph action figures or statues. However, I’m talking about something never seen before to spice up the display… like Eaglemoss and their new 12.5-inch Mega Xenomorph statue… that GLOWS IN THE DARK!

Using their original 12.5-inch Mega Xenomorph statue as a base (read my review HERE), Eaglemoss has added a nifty glow element that transforms the piece into something new. With the lights on, the glow paint gives the Alien a very skeleton monster vibe. With the creature being quite bony to begin with, the skeleton look is quite fitting… from a nice display distance.

Up close, and well, the glow paint work can appear a bit Halloween-y in places. I do wish that the glow applications could have been blended in more naturally, but perhaps that’s the nature of the paint. Regardless, for all intents and purposes, it works… especially with the lights out!

After a few minutes basking in a direct light source, flip off the lights to watch the Xenomorph glow with intense fury. And I mean intense! The photo above was not doctored, simply my camera held steady and placed on a nighttime setting. Pretty cool stuff.

The Glow Alien would be perfect on display in an office or bedroom where you can admire it during the day and continue to admire it well into the night. Glow-in-the-dark figures are nothing new, but in the world of Alien collectibles it is a very unique item.

Eaglemoss’ 12.5-inch Mega Glow-In-The-Dark Xenomorph is available now on their website priced at $142.45. If interested, you better hurry, it is limited to only 200 pieces!
