Worlds collide as two epic horror video game titles join forces for Gecco‘s latest 1/6th scale collectible statue release. After taking on almost all of the imaginative original “Killer” character designs seen in the popular survival horror game Dead By Daylight (read my past reviews of the Hillbilly, Trapper, and Wraith), Gecco is expanding their collection by including another hot license of theirs: Silent Hill. It’s a match made in heaven (or hell?); where the crazy Silent Hill creature known as “Pyramid Head” can actually be played in Dead By Daylight as a Killer class called The Executioner. This amazing polystone statue perfectly captures the iconic look of the massive sword-wielding masked monster and is sure to be a hit with fans of both games.

Available for order through Sideshow Collectibles priced at $360, this piece impresses with another amazing packaging job from Gecco.  Sized to fit the approximately 12-inch statue inside, the box excites with wonderful illustrations and text of “The Executioner” from the character on one side panel. The other side panel is reserved for a Gecco artist credit list of all involved in this incredible project.

Packaged in a black, plastic foam clam shell (not the crumbly white kind), horror hounds will find Pyramid Head housed along side many different components. There is more assembly here than in past Gecco statue releases, primarily due to the fragile, delicate nature of the pieces.

Begin by plugging The Executioner onto the solid resin base which represents the Dead By Daylight Silent Hill chapter stage, “Midwich Elementary School”. His (it’s?!) left hand attaches via a magnet. The “Great Knife” slides into Pyramid Head’s right hand and is completed by attaching the pommel.

The most challenging part of assembling this piece is the barbed wire and iron beam components to recreate The Executioner’s “Trail of Torment” in-game power. An instruction sheet guides you through this process, however, I found the barbed wire pieces to be a very loose connection. They just didn’t go into their allotted slots firmly. While looking great on display, I do wish these pieces were more solidly attached to the statue base.

Dead By Daylight is a fun horror game to play, but I’m certainly more of a Silent Hill fan. While both camps will appreciate this statue of Pyramid Head, the piece was definitely designed with Silent Hill collectors in mind. I find the unusual character so cool and disturbing; where I absolutely light up whenever there is a Pyramid Head collectible announced. There aren’t many out there.

If you’re a fan of Pyramid Head like I am, it doesn’t get any better than this.
