Shhhhh. Be very, very Quiet! Following the release of Snake and Raiden from Ground ZeroesGecco continues their series of 1:6th scale Metal Gear Solid PVC statues with characters pulled from the fifth video game installment: The Phantom Pain. In-stock and ready to ship now through Gecco Direct, the first Phantom Pain figure is none-other than the sexy, silent sniper Quiet. The statue is priced at $289 with free shipping included.

1quietPACK

Quiet comes packaged in a closed window box adorned with a desert scene on the front (the Aabe Shifap Ruins where she tried to capture Snake in the game) and a large image of Quiet on the back. There’s also tons of information on the game, character and the fine people at Gecco responsible for creating this lovely statue.

What I found particularly interesting about Quiet’s packaging is how Gecco treated the viewing window: they made it appear as if it was the view through a sniper scope!

Once opened, you’ll find the Quiet statue, display base, components, and accessories carefully stowed in a plastic clamshell tray. Extra care is taken here, with plastic covering almost every part to prevent scratching and damage.

1gunhand

Like all Gecco PVC statues, the instructions are included on a cardboard insert that slides out of the packaging. Assembly, however, is pretty straight forward: Simply plug Quiet onto her base, holster the pistol, sheath the knife and plug that on, and lastly attach her right hand and the sniper rifle. The last part is the trickiest as you need to position the hand onto the weapon before plugging it onto the statue. Check out the image above for hand placement.

1quietFULL

Quiet comes armed with her trademark weapon, a Renov-ICKX SR sniper rifle. Nicknamed “Wicked Butterfly,” the sculpt on the lethal rifle is spectacular. Included with the gun is an optional suppressor that attaches to the end of the muzzle. Seeing how Quiet is all about long distance stealth kills, I think most collectors will opt to have this attachment on.

Rounding out Quiet’s arsenal is an automatic pistol that stashes in a holster at her side, as well as a combat knife that slips into a sheath. The latter plugs into via a hole on her waist.

1quietfaces

Giving fans further flexibility in how they display their Quiet statue, Gecco provides an extra portrait: Quiet with a butterfly marked face.

The system to swap-out faces is rather clever. To change, gently pull the front hair section up and out and then pull the face forward and off. To attach the new face, simply reverse the process. Having her bangs as a separate piece really helps conceal the portrait’s seam lines, as the seams in the hair blend in quite naturally.

After you have settled on a look, kick back and marvel at Gecco’s amazing sculpt. Oh, and in case you are curious to why Quiet is practically naked, the Metal Gear wiki explains:

Quiet wore a minimal amount of clothing at all times because she could only breathe through her skin following parasite-treatment due to the serious injuries she had sustained while trying to kill Big Boss during the hospital raid; wearing too much clothing would lead to suffocation.

Serious Metal Gear Solid fans will need no urging to buy this statue; it’s a beautiful piece. However, Gecco is offering a unique incentive. Collectors that purchase both Quiet and the second Phantom Pain statue release, Venom Snake, will receive a free bonus figure: the puppy DD. To receive your free puppy DD figure (for customers outside Japan), find the 7 digit codes included with the Quiet and Venom Snake statues and enter the two codes at the campaign web page described on the application. Fans now have until February 28th, 2017 (extended from December 31st, 2016) to enter.
