XM is a company based out of Singapore specializing in high-end sculpture. Thanks to their acquisition of the DC Comics license, XM’s work is now being distributed in North America via GFX (GFXDistribution.com).
The massive 1/4 scale pieces on display at New York Comic Con were truly stunning, featuring Batman and his enemies, some sculpted with an Asian flair, such as Poison Ivy with a Kabuki mask, Bane , Batman and Deathstroke all donning Samurai-influenced armor.
One of the most striking statues at the show (this one in 1/6 scale) featured Batman being pulled down by all his enemies – each foe individually sculpted. There was a full color version, as well as my personal favorite, a version with Batman in color and the villains in smokey white.
Superman, Wonder Woman, The Flash, and Aquaman were also represented, the four sculpted in 1/6th scale.
Prices on these greatly vary, from around $500 for a XM Sixth Scale Statue to upwards of $1100 for an XM Quarter Scale Statue.
