Collectors will recall that USAopoly began to experiment with collectibles mid last year, releasing a new vinyl figure series called FunEdibles along with various licensed bust banks from games like DOOM and Fallout (see our story HERE). Well Toy Fair revealed plans to take that collectibles division one step further with the formation of Project Raygun. While the FunEdibles experiment didn’t stick, Project Raygun has numerous new projects waiting in line to fill the void.  Unfortunately, photography was not permitted at Toy Fair due to the infancy of the new company and product on display. Project Raygun did announce that they will attending San Diego Comic-Con, so expect full reveals then, if not earlier.

One of the projects included a new partnership with Mondo to create a board game based on John Carpenter’s 1982 classic, The Thing. Mondo will be supplying their The Thing  license to the project, along with their fantastic art.

Also shown was a new series of artistic and licensed plush items designed by Steff Bomb. The Thing will once again be one of the licenses, fans soon to able to pretend they are MacReady with a plush flamethrower with wearable flame tank.  Other plush properties include Adventure Time, Game of Thrones, and a Gjallarhorn rocket launcher from Destiny.

Other fun collectibles on display included 3″ and 7″ tiki-inspired figures called Forbidden Tikis, stack-able block totems called Tower Squad (licenses include The Thing and Destiny), and a series of articulated mini figures called Iconauts. The latter will stand approximately 3-inches tall with one of the licensed being (surprise!), The Thing.

Lastly, Project Raygun has partnered with Sideshow Collectibles on their in-house project Court Of The Dead. Expect 1000-piece puzzles, playing and tarot cards. A new, original Court of the Dead tabletop board game is being planned for a 2018 release. This game will expand on the lore of the property currently available as digital comics on the Court of the Dead website and in the 200-page handbook, The Chronicles of the Underworld. The game will feature stunning, original artwork. Design is expected to start later this year.
