Hasbro had some great product reveals to celebrate the 40th Anniversary of Star Wars.  For starters, the Black Series is getting a retro make-over with all new vintage-styled blister card packaging.

You can’t celebrate 40 years of Star Wars A New Hope without an Early Bird gift set and this year Hasbro will be giving fans an all new set for the 6″ Black Series and will include all new updated Darth Vader figure with all new vintage blister card packaging.

Also making it’s debut at Toy Fair was the all new Black Series Centerpiece line which will offer collectors immersive dioramas with light-up features that work cohesively with the 6″ figure line.  The assortment will consist of two sets:

  • Luke Skywalker on Hoth
  • Darth Vader Tantive IV

While only a handful of new 6″ figures were revealed for the Black Series, Hasbro promises a lot more to come throughout 2017 leading up to Force Friday II and the launch of the Last Jedi in theaters this December.  While not on display at the Hasbro booth, press got a glimpse of the in-progress Luke Skywalker 6″ figure and they promise he is coming.

Among this year’s exclusives, there will be these:

  • Star Wars Celebration Exclusive for this vintage blister-carded Luke X-Wing 6″ figure with foil deco.
  • Target Exclusive AT-ACT Driver 6″ Figure
  • Entertainment Earth R5-D4 6″ Figure

The new Star Wars Black Series 6″ 40th Anniversary waves will consist of:

Wave 1 (April 2017)

  • Obi-Wan Kenobi
  • Princess Leia (with improved head sculpt)
  • R2-D2
  • Luke Skywalker
  • Han Solo

Wave 2 (July/August 2017)

  • Chewbacca
  • C3-PO
  • Jawa
  • Tusken Raider
  • Death Star Trooper (with removable helmet)
