In celebration of their 10th anniversary, Bandai Tamashii Nations held an intimate press event ahead of the New York Toy Fair’s official opening tomorrow. The ten year milestone will be celebrated in other ways as well, in particular the Tamashii Nations 10th World Tour: a traveling global exhibit of the quality collectibles that includes the ever popular S.HFiguarts and Meisho Movie Realization brands, as well as model kits from Hobby Japan.

Announced at Toy Fair was the next stop in the tour: New York City, to be held April 29 – 30 at Grand Central Terminal. 9 exclusives will be offered onsite, including special figures from Gundam, Dragon Ball Z and Saint Seiya, as well as two S.H.Figuart figures featuring the Tamashii Nations 10th World Tour branding.

Future stops include Japan (Asaka), Mexico (Mexico City), even France.

In breaking news at Toy Fair, Bandai announced that they will be producing collectibles from Pacific Rim: Uprising, the sequel to the giant Jaegers versus Kaiju film by Guillermo del Toro. Bandai will be releasing items from multiple categories, from impulse buy to premium. Look for die-cast figures as part of Tamashii Nations’ Robot Spirits series, vinyl figures, as well as quality model kits from Hobby Japan. Fans can expect collectibles of both the new Jaegers (three pictured above) as well as the new Kaiju monsters.

New S.H.Figuarts on display included Kane and Undertaker from their WWE series, as well as Batman and the Joker from The Dark Knight.

In other S.H.Figuarts news, Bluefin has been working hard on getting the previous Japan-exclusive Marvel figures Stateside. Part of the licensing deal was to fill a slightly higher SRP on the market. To fulfill that goal, Bluefin has been packing these North American S.H.Figuarts Marvel releases with extra accessories not seen in the Japanese releases. These include the Hall of Armor included with Iron Man (see our story HERE) and upcoming Doctor Strange with his magic effects (see HERE). Future Marvel figures will continue the trend.

The Robot Spirits line does not use diecast. Were you thinking of Super Robot Chogokin?
