Toy distributors don’t get half the credit they deserve. The Deadpool ARTFX+ statue arrives in pieces and requires some minor assembly, which is all quite appropriate given the character’s regenerating superhero powers. Each piece – arms, upper torso, legs, hands and swords – arrives individually poly-bagged for protection and stowed on collector-friendly slide-out plastic storage trays.
All this comes packed in a gorgeous flip-top box adorned with images of the statue, Deadpool’s name and logo, along with a silver “Global Holdings Exclusive” sticker at the upper right corner. The sticker is there to remind Mint in Box collectors that this statue they refuse to open is special and should be opened . Because, common people, otherwise you’re just displaying a box with a sticker. B-O-R-I-N-G.
Anyone that has built an ARTFX+ statue knows that assembly is literally a snap. There’s even instructions included to guide you along. Simply plug the durable PVC plastic pieces together and –Voilà! – you have yourself a fine looking Deadpool statue decked out in an eye-catching exclusive colorway (I love the metallic reds!). The most “complicated” step is getting Deadpool’s right arm just so. Here you place what appears to be a broken sword in his grasp and align the blade into the sheath on his back. When the arm is positioned into place, it gives the illusion that Deadpool is pulling out his katana. Pretty cool.
The other sword included is the entire weapon. This sword, along with a weapon grasping left hand to hold it and an alternate “radical” left hand gesture, give collectors several awesome display options (see photos above).
Koto also provides a metal display base featuring Deadpool’s logo. With magnets in his feet, the Deadpool ARTFX+ statue sticks nice and secure. Heck, you could even stick him on your refrigerator if you so desired. 
Kotobukiya also includes a dry erase board and black marker. These clever extras add a fun interactive element to the piece. The sign slides into Deadpool’s weapon grasping hand in lieu of of his sword and allows your creativity to run wild. Proclaim your love for that special someone, make out a grocery list, or jot down a random Deadpool obscenity – the sky is the limit to what you can scribble down!
For Plain Jane vanilla Marvel purists, Koto’s all-red standard Marvel Now! Deadpool ARTFX+ statue is nice. However, for those seeking a bolder statement from their favorite “Merc With A Mouth,” the Global Holdings’ black suit exclusive is where it’s at. Black looks so much more ninja-like and the metallic red highlights on this version steal the show. It’s a very cool color combination.
