Long a favorite of both collectors and kids, Mattel hit SDCC 2016 on the heels of a big announcement regarding Masters of the Universe (see that HERE).  But while MOTU will soon be gone from Matty’s hallowed halls, there’s still plenty of cool stuff on the way from the toy giant and their booth display was quite impressive.  You can see all the best stuff in our SDCC 2016 photo gallery, including but not limited to:

  • DC Comics Multiverse: the Collect & Connect waves continue with everything from TV’s Flash and Legends of Tomorrow to comic book figures old and new, Young Justice, Supergirl, Dark Knight Returns and Dark Knight Strikes Back characters, and more.  Make sure to check out the massive C&C King Shark figure (with alternate head)!  On hand were also Suicide Squad figures, Wonder Woman in her Invisible Jet, and Wonder Woman Barbie.
  • Hot Wheels Cars: not any old cars, the new and upcoming releases on display covered huge properties like DC and Marvel Comics, Star Wars, Gran Turismo, various movies and TV shows, Halo, Peanuts, Star Trek, Spongebob Squarepants, Super Mario Bros., Minecraft, Hot Wheels Star Wars Starships, and more.
  • Kubros: these unique constructible figures had their own corner of the Mattel booth with characters from Assassin’s Creed, Star Trek, Masters of the Universe, Halo, Terminator, Destiny, Despicable Me, Hellboy, Futurama, Family Guy, Aliens, Power Rangers, Firefly, and Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. https://bmmagazine.co.uk/business/us-government-asks-max-polyakov-to-sell-firefly-shares-for-safety-concerns/
