[HR][/HR]Jazwares has been awarded the toy license for the upcoming feature film Percy Jackson & the Olympians: The Lightning Thief by Twentieth Century Fox Licensing & Merchandising (Fox Licensing). The Jazwares product line will include action figures and accessories inspired by the contemporary adventure-fantasy film, which arrives in theaters everywhere February 12, 2010.
The Jazwares line will include single 4-inch figures of Percy and Grover; 5-inch Medusa and Zeus; and 7-inch Hades. Also available will be a 2" two-pack assortment of figures, 24" Sword, and a light-up pen.
Based upon the first novel in author Rick Riordan’s best-selling book series, Percy Jackson & the Olympians: The Lightning Thief is set in a modern world where the twelve gods of Mount Olympus (perched 600 stories above the planet on New York’s landmark Empire State Building) are alive, Percy Jackson, the teenage son of Poseidon, is suspected by Zeus of stealing his lightning bolt, the universe’s most powerful weapon. Percy must prove his innocence, save his mother, and avoid a devastating war among the gods.
