Memorabilia and Stories from a Galaxy Far, Far Away

Star Wars books are a dime a dozen it seems, and many of those books act as guides to the plethora of licensed and unlicensed memorabilia that has been released throughout the many years since the original film graced theater screens in 1977. But every once in a while, much like the interesting merchandise, there come along a book that stands out from the traditional Star Wars titles and this time it comes in the form of this new softcover guide from author, fan, and collector Steve Sansweet.

Steve is known and admired by fans worldwide as head of Lucasfilm fan relations and owner of one of the largest private collections of Star Wars merchandise and memorabilia in the world at his ranch and home, dubbed ‘Rancho Obiwan”. While photos have been shown online previously, it is unfathomable how many pieces the bearded one actually owns, but you can see some aerial shots of the collection within the book’s pages.

The blunt of the book focuses on the “1,000” Star Wars items selected by Steve to act as a general sampling of the broad range of products and licensees that the franchise has gained over the years. Each page boasts a variety of items, many that have been seen before and some that many fans have never come across. Almost every item in the book has a small blurb describing the item or it’s acquisition through a short anecdote. The book also features beautiful full-color photography taken by Steve’s collection manager Anne Neuman.

Star Wars fans of all ages are sure to love this great coffee-table book that’s sure to excite and surprise followers of “The Force” every time they pick it up. Star Wars: 1,000 Collectibles is available now at bookstores nationwide!
