Who knows what lurks in the shadows, in the woods, in the caves, and underwater?

Reveal to the people the idea of a monster and people first begin to wonder, then get frighten, and then are out right afraid. BUT show a person a monster and the possible science behind the monster's existence and they start to lose their fear of the monster and begin to wonder if it's real...

Thus is the premise behind Animal Planet's new series Lost Tapes. Meant both as an educational tool and a way to attract new viewers (especially those of us who believe in mystical beasts, creatures, and monsters!), Lost Tapes explores 14 different "first-hand" accounts with mythical creatures - everything from cave demons and Sasquatch. Completely fictitious, each episode focuses on a mythical creature and human exposure to the creature through "first hand accounts" filmed to both entertain, explore, and reveal the creature as well as other natural phenomenon. For example: the episodes about Cave Demons also explores the very real vampire bat.

While some are episodes are more entertaining than others and some seem outright hard to even comprehend (more or less believe), Lost Tapes is an original concept and combines both fictional creatures with real nature facts regarding the fictional creature's environments, food sources, hunting techniques, and even other animals similar to the mythical beasts.

For those looking for a completely unique, entertaining and educational television on DVD that will both make you (at least) want to believe in some of these mythical creatures, check out Animal Planet's Lost Tapes, available now on DVD wherever fine home video is sold.
