PHOTO REVIEW: Dark Horse GAME OF THRONES Figures - Series 10

Margaery Tyrell, Oberyn Martell and Ygritte...

As fantasy fans eagerly await the return of HBO's Game of Thrones next month, Dark Horse continues to churn out the characters in their 7-inch scale figure series. Hot on the heels of Grey Worm last month (HERE) comes three new - pretty major - characters: Margaery Tyrell, Oberyn Martell and Ygritte. As is so often the case with this series, only the ever-scheming Margaery (oh who am I foolin', everyone is scheming!) still graces us with her presence on the show, but Oberyn and Ygritte certainly left their mark before their untimely demise.

Of the three, Margaery has the best head sculpt, most closely resembling the lovely Natalie Dormer. Oberyn is also instantly recognizable as Pedro Pascal, but his facial hair helps a lot there. Regardless, Margaery and Oberyn strike me as the least exciting figures in this wave, and not because of their excellent characters. Aside from their beautiful wardrobes, they're really just some royalty strutting their stuff. Must-have figures for Game of Thrones fans, for sure, but for overall appeal my money is on Ygritte. She's in action with a bow. If you ask me, medieval weapons (and armor) just lend a better fantasy vibe to a figure then... standing there looking pretty in a court gown.

We're up to twenty-two (22) Game of Thrones figures released so far. That's a very impressive number for any figure series and one that shows Dark Horse is dead serious about releasing every character on the show. Yes, believe it or not there are still many characters not yet made. Ramsay "Must Die Soon" Bolton, Theon Greyjoy, Bronn, Lord Varys, Stannis Baratheon, Davos Seaworth, Samwell Tarly... the list is quite endless. If you're looking for a figure line to invest in, you can't go wrong with Dark Horse's Game of Thrones.
