    TF15: Hasbro Transformers

    Constructicons Combine To Form Devastator...

2015 is definitely going to be another big year for Hasbro and the Transformers line as we saw at the big press event at New York Toy Fair. The presentation ran through all of the lines starting with the kid-focused products like the Rescue Force Recruits. The big news, of course, is the launch of the Robots in Disguise television show coming to the Hub March 14th. Hasbro is fully supporting it with toys as well as through app partnerships. Kids of all ages will be able to get their hands on a wide array of toys including One-Step Changers (like Drift, Fracture, Thunderhoof), Legion toys (Fixit, Steeljaw), Warriors (Sideswipe, Jazz), Three-Step Changers (Steeljaw), Mini-cons (Deployers Drift and Fracture each with two Mini-cons, plus individual minis), 11 inch tall Mega Optimus with multiple Mini-con ports, and the massive 19 inch tall Super Bumblebee.

For collectors the Generations line is now in full Combiner Wars mode, corresponding to the current IDW Comics storyline. Fans can even use the Transformers app to vote on the next combiner toy! All levels of figures work with the Combiner format with Legends becoming weapons and accessories, Deluxe the limbs, and Voyagers the main bodies. Newly revealed at Toy Fair were items in the new Protectobots lineup featuring Legends Viper (with Cobra markings), Groove, and Warpath, Deluxes Streetwise, Rook, Blades, and First Aid, Voyagers Hot Spot (to make Defensor) and Cyclonus (who forms Galvatronus), and Leader class Ultra Magnus. Fans of the IDW series will be super excited to learn that Magnus comes with a tiny Minimus Ambus figure that’s fully transformable and which fits inside both modes of his larger body! There’s even an added feature that lets you combine Ultra Magnus’ weapons into a giant hammer.

But that wasn’t all... Hasbro also revealed another combiner in the form of the first and mightiest, Devastator! The green and purple giant isn’t an ordinary combiner, but is formed from six Voyager class Transformers. They all come in one giant boxed set and are individually transformable with very cool vehicle and robot modes based on the original G1 characters. Look for this set in the Fall for $150. Of course there’s also the ongoing Kre-o line and new Titan Heroes and Tiny Titans.
