REVIEW: McFarlane's RABBIDS INVASION: Fall/Holiday Assortment

The Wacky Rabbits Are Back For More Bwahs, Burps and Farts...

Appropriately timed for release last Easter, McFarlane Toys unleashed Rabbids Invasion upon the zany bunny-lovin' masses (read our review HERE). Based on Nickelodeon's animated series, the adorable toy line marked a bold new direction for McFarlane; that of fun, kid-friendly collectibles. Now McFarlane's Rabbids Invasion is back for more bwahs, burps and farts, the fall/holiday assortment returning popular past playthings along with some exciting new.

Returning items include the Rabbids Sound and Action Figure 2-Packs (MSRP $12.97 each), as well as the blind-bagged Rabbids Mini Figures (MSRP $2.99 each). Fans of the latter now have the option of collecting them all in one fell swoop with an all-new Rabbids Mini Figure 6-Pack (MSRP $19.99). You'll miss the thrill of the hunt (and the mystery chase figure), but the new 6-pack will at least spare you from those dreaded duplicates.

11-inch Plush Rabbids are also back, but this time they're bringing with them some more vocal company. New for the holidays is a trio of 8" Rabbids Plush with Sound (MSRP $12.99 each)! The three Rabbids each feature a hilarious facial expression along with unique shake-activated sounds. The two Rabbids Plush I own each spew a series of random bwahs, giggles and the occasional fart (but of course!). Check them out in action in the video above. Overall these are some very cute collectibles and the comical sounds an added bonus. Be forewarned, these plush are on a hair trigger and tend to have a life of their own. The slightest nudge will set them off into hysterics! That unexpectedness is great for entertaining your friends, a potential annoyance in public places.

Ah, but now for the cherry on the cake, McFarlane's Rabbids pièce de résistance: the Rabbids SUPER Plunger Blaster (MSRP $19.99). By all appearances this is the same Plunger Blaster that previously hit toy shelves. But looks can be deceiving. As the "SUPER" in the title implies, this is a new and improved Plunger Blaster! The original Plunger Blaster emitted 15 unique Rabbids sounds in a random order, and the new SUPER Plunger Blaster does that too (see video above). The old Plunger Blaster also had a "Prank" mode, the setting allowing you to trigger a random sound on an unexpecting friend. The SUPER Plunger Blaster has that feature as well. What's new is the ability to enter "Bwah" and "Fart" mode, because let's face it, kids (okay, and adults) find fart sounds hilarious. By holding the trigger down for four seconds, either a "Bwah" or "Fart" sound will be heard. That's your cue that one of those two modes has been activated, meaning that each trigger pull thereafter will be nothing but bwahs and farts. Yup, no more waiting for that giggle-inducing fart sound. Now you can fart until you're blue in the face! Check out the SUPER Plunger Blaster in "Fart Mode" in the video below.

Cute and annoying. McFarlane's Rabbids Invasion are the perfect toy recipe for kids. Oh, who am I foolin' - adults too I found myself snickering more than once playing around with these new Rabbid toys, a devilish grin on my face the whole time. And that right there says it all: McFarlane's Rabbids Invasion toys are FUN.
