    NYCC14: SD Toys

Spanish Toy Maker Makes Its Convention Debut...

Spanish toy maker SD Toys made their U.S. convention debut at this year's New York Comic Com. A division of SD Distribuciones, Spain's #1 provider of fun pop culture collectibles, SD Toys impressed attendees with hot licensed product from Big Bang Theroy, DC Comics and more.

The cast from the hilarious sitcom Big Bang Theory were featured in numerous collectible formats, including stress dolls (including a massive 15" stress doll of Sheldon!), keychains and a new toy line called Pixels. As the name implies, the Pixel collection transforms popular characters into blocky 8-bit looking figures. SD Toys plans on using the retro-neo approach on other properties such as The Matrix and The Warriors, but Big Bang Theory will launch the series in 2015.

DC Comics will receive a fun new format for fans with Super Dough. The kits will include easy-to-follow instructions allowing you to transform and harden the colorful putty into select DC super heroes and vehicles, similar to Super Sculpey. I played around with the stuff and it was light and airy. Most surprising was how well it stuck together, yet did not overly stick to your fingers or table (read: not messy). DC Comics will also receive a series of Stress Dolls (concept art can be viewed HERE) launching with Superman, Batman, The Joker and The Flash.

Last but not least was an incredible figure of Marlon Brando as The Godfather. Seated in his chair, the realistically sculpted figure of the well-known movie mob boss is due out next year.
