30 Years Of Jim Henson's Lovable Muppet Characters...

Last week the fine folks at Jim Henson Company and Gaiam Vivendi Entertainment satisfied its legions of fans with a monumental Muppet release: Fraggle Rock 30th Anniversary Collection. This massive collection of television that is nearly 30 years old now tells the stories of a singing gang of Fraggles that live in the caves not far from the human world. The colorful band of Fraggle Rock characters include the iconic Gobo, Red, Boober, Wembly, Mokey, and Traveling Matt, the latter who explores the realm of outer space (just the human world for you and me).

The 30th anniversary collection includes all four seasons of the family musical comedy that originally aired from 1983 to 1987. The show continues to delight on the Hub channel but now you can bring it home to watch whenever you like and as often, too. Also included in the DVD set are behind the scenes interviews, a graphic novel, and a collectible Red plush keychain, all retailing for $129.99.

In addition, you can introduce your kids to the world of Fraggle Rock with Fraggle Rock: Meet the Fraggles that includes the pilot episode and five additional episodes from the series. If you or your loved ones have not seen Fraggle Rock, this might be a good starter DVD to make sure they’ll fall in love with the characters just as you have growing up. “Meet the Fraggles” retails at a more friendly price of $14.99.

Fraggle Rock: 30th Anniversary Collection and Fraggle Rock: Meet the Fraggles are both available where fine home entertainment is sold. Original release date: May 14, 2013.
