Following the launch of their MEGO-style KISS figures (see our story HERE), Figures Toy Company prepares to release 8-inch Mad Monster action figures. The retro-looking collectibles feature cloth clothing and 16 points of articulation and arrive in Figures Toy Company's new removable clamshell packaging. The four-figure collection (pictured above) stars Dracula, Mummy, Wolfman and Frankenstein.
In addition, a Mad Monster Castle Playset will be released (pictured below), a faithful replica of the original 1974 Mad Monster Castle Playset made by The Mego Toy Company.
The Mad Monster figures and playset are limited edition and will only see one production run. Mad Monster figures will retail for $14.99 each and the Mad Monster Castle Playset will sell for $69.99 and are only available through the following Figures Toy Company websites: figurestoycompany.com, classictvtoys.com, and wrestlingsuperstore.com.
Figures Toy Company CFO Anthony Balasco states, "This will be the first time collectors will be able to afford and obtain a Mad Monster Playset that so closely resembles the original Mego playset that sells for over $800.00 when you can actually find one."
