Celebrating 40 Years of the Iconic Super Robot...

Yesterday, during the Tokyo Toy Show, Bandai Japan announced a new DX Soul Of Chogokin Mazinger Z. The new figure celebrates the 40th anniversary of Mazinger Z and 15 years of Soul of Chogokin innovationwith the most advanced replica of the iconic Super Robot created to date.

Key features on the DX Soul Of Chogokin Mazinger Z include:

* Largest Soul of Chogokin created - standing nearly twice the height of past releases at almost 12 inches (300mm).

* First Sould of Chogokin to incorporate light/ sound gimmick. LEDs in the head replicate both Mazinger Z's activation sequence and firing of Photon Beams. LEDs in the chest simulate the Breast Fire attack.

* A full hangar facility that contains the figure and its many components, for display or storage. "Hangar" contains LED footlights to illuminate Mazinger Z. Both a standard and rail-mounted crane are included.

* Detailed mechanical inner workings. Mazinger Z's front armor plates can be removed to expose everything from inside his face down to its fists and toes. Separate split armor plates are also included, letting you display Mazinger Z as a cutaway style model.

Look for the DX Soul Of Chogokin Mazinger Z this December priced at 36,750 yen (about US$460).
