Spawn creator Todd McFarlane has talked a lot in recent years about bringing his creation back to the world of collectibles. That time is now upon us. Coming Tuesday, December 6 exclusively to the McFarlane Toys online store (store.spawn.com) will be Spawn: The Beginning, an all-new resin statue of the popular superhero.

This statue is limited to 900 pieces and each is individually numbered: 1-300 autographed by Todd McFarlane ($149.95) and 301-900 unsigned ($109.95). Both versions will feature free shipping within the U.S. and all orders received before Saturday, December 10 will ship in time for Christmas.

Every Spawn: The Beginning statue also includes a free copy of Spawn issue #1 and Spawn issue #2 from the original 1st Printing in 1992. Fifty copies of Spawn #2 have been autographed by Todd and have been randomly inserted in the boxes.

Sales of the Spawn: The Beginning statue on December 6 will also coincide with the launch of the new McFarlane Toys Store and Collectors Club program.

Good luck McFarlane!

Let's hope that this is the first step that will eventually lead to the return of Spawn figures (in normal 7" not shrunken scale) as well.

How tall is this?

Good question. I would assume about the same height as their last statue - 8-9 inches. Looks about right from the pic below.

Then it's cool at that height.
