The Washington-based toy company FUNKO (you know them from their bobbleheads) and Disney (you know them from their everything) have teamed up to create their own exclusive line of POP! vinyl figures that made their debut at San Diego Comic-Con (see our story HERE). FUNKO currently produces POP!, a 3.75" stylized vinyl figure line of all types, ranging from Gremlins to DC Universe and Marvel to Star Wars and KISS. And now with Disney Stores across the nation getting an exclusive line of character collectibles, they’re really re-energizing the store and making it a unique destination alongside the theme parks.

San Diego Comic-Con gave fans a head start to their collection with a number of exclusive figures including Metallic Mickey Mouse, Glow in the Dark Mike Wazowski, Flocked Sulley, 9” Metallic Maleficent, 9” Metallic Buzz Lightyear, and Retro Suit Mr. Incredible. Don’t fret if you missed out on those as there are twelve figures currently in stock at Disney Store and online at DisneyStore.com including:

SERIES 1

01 – Mickey Mouse
02 – Buzz Lightyear
03 – Woody
04 – Sulley
05 – Mike Wazowski
06 – Pinocchio
07 – Jiminy Cricket
08 – Snow White
09 – Maleficent
10 – Tinker Bell
11 – Cruella De Vil
12 – Stitch

We’re taking a closer look at Stitch, made popular by the 2002 film Lilo and Stitch. He has sturdy and immovable arms and legs to support his incredibly big noggin, which does have neck articulation to vary it up on your shelf.

The paint application is job good, not great, as closer inspection reveals a few shaky lines here and there. But because these are such stylized sculpts, it adds to the hand-made quality of it.

The packaging for POP! is also attractive with a box with illustrations of the character you’re getting gracing all sides and a nice open dual-sided window to show you the figure displayed inside, supported by a plastic tray. The back of the box does its job and shows collectors what else is being offered in the series.

For fans of Disney characters that wanted a new avenue to collect, POP! may just do the job. It’s cute and fun to look at and if successful, we’ll probably see even more of your favorite characters come to life.

Stitch and the rest of Series 1 can be ordered online or in the stores for $12.50 each.
