The Masters of the Universe Classics toy line adds another heroic ally to its ranks this month with the release of the all-new Sy-Klone figure. The final defender of Anwat Gar spins his way onto mattycollector.com today.

The action figure's overall look and design stays very true to the classic figure from the eighties with some 200x-inspired accessories to spice things up a bit. There is a whole lot of new tooling on Sy-Klone making it very difficult to distinguish which previously-released body parts it shares with other MOTUC characters. Unlike most MOTUC figures, Sy-Klone does not have a removable chest piece with a standard buck torso underneath. Sy-Klone has a newly-tooled torso in which the sonar radar and tech vest are permanently sculpted as one whole piece.

Although the figure does not include the same twisting play action feature as its predecessors, the Horsemen still sculpted the exposed dial on Sy-Klone's back to pay homage to the original figure as an added bonus. The ornate rings on Sy-Klone's forearms and calves are very finely rendered and the arm fins are strategically glued to the outer edge of each bicep adding that great detail to the costume, yet allowing full mobility to the arm joints.

The figure can be posed in a wide range of positions thanks to the versatility offered by its expansively articulated body. The ankle joints on Sy-Klone are not exposed making this the third figure in the collection to feature this newly-developed tooling. Although at first glance it might look like it, the sonar radar piece above Sy-Klone’s abdomen does not hinder the ab crunch joint’s mobility.

The color apps on Sy-Klone are very well executed and the yellow parts of the figure’s body are beautifully detailed with a nice blend of yellow and orange hues that help bring out the muscular details on the figure. Another awesome detail on this figure is the inclusion of the lenticular sonar radar piece on Sy-Klone’s chest which is an almost exact replica of the classic figure from the good old days.

As if the figure was not great already, Mattel has given all of us 200X fans a little bonus with this figure in the form of two accessories, a shield and removable battle ring. The battle ring can be attached to Sy-Klone’s TECH vest at the back and can be positioned at different angles. The ring can also be used a weapon by placing it in one of the figure's hands. Sy-Klone also includes a 200x-inspired spherical shield that clips onto either forearm like the ones included with He-Man and the Royal Guards.

There is no surprise why the Masters of the Universe Classics toy line is so popular and one of the hottest toy lines in the market today. With great new figures like Sy-Klone, jumping on the MOTUC bandwagon is a no-brainer and although there may be a lot catching up to do if you start collecting these figures now, there are plenty of opportunities to acquire previously-sold figures on mattycollector.com when they get re-released.

Sy-Klone will available for purchase today (4-15) along with the highly-anticipated Panthor deluxe beast, Weapons Rack (read our review HERE) and Moss Man re-release(unflocked ears version) at 12:00 PM EST standard time.
