[HR][/HR]Standing in Museum of the Moving Image's core exhibition "Behind the Screen," Mike Drake, Mezco's Director of Special Projects, "handed off" several items from the new film The Green Hornet to Dr. Barbara Miller, the Museum’s Collection Curator. The donated items include two prototypes action figures of the new film's stars; the Green Hornet and Kato. The 12-inch figures are in stores now and feature numerous points of articulation and real cloth components.
The Museum of the Moving Image is only museum dedicated to the art and industry of all of screen culture, from the earliest silent films to today’s video games. It holds a collection of more than 130,000 artifacts from motion pictures, television, and digital media. Among these, the museum’s licensed merchandise holdings are particularly noteworthy with more than 17,000 artifacts dating from 1914 to present. More than 1,000 of these artifacts will be on display in the Museum's core exhibition "Behind the Screen" beginning January 15, 2011 when the museum reopens to the public after a major renovation and expansion. The Museum of the Moving Image provides access to the collection through its website, exhibitions, and education programs.
