Hitting alongside Hasbro's Star Wars Saga Legends this August will be the first series of "new" Vintage Collection action figures. This assortment features figures with updated sculpts and decos while still retaining a very retro feel. The cardbacks hammer home that nostalgia with a design that is reminiscent of the original Kenner 70's/80's Star Wars packaging.

Best of all is the "FREE BOBA FETT" offer - one that was original made back in the late '70s promising a Boba Fett figure with rocket-firing jetpack. Kids back then DID get a free Boba Fett figure (I still have mine), but alas the missile launching gimmick was canned due to safety reasons. Hasbro's new Boba Fett mail-away promotion WILL give fans a retro sculpted Boba (not the one in this assortment- old school look) with that rocket-firing action some of us were deprived of as children. It'll have a pull-back soft launch, but hey, it'll still shoot.

In celebration of The Empire Strikes Back's 30th anniversary, the first wave of the Vintage Collection will include characters from that movie including:

4-LOM, AT-AT Commander, Bespin Luke Skywalker, Boba Fett, C-3PO, Cloud Car Pilot, Darth Vader, Dengar, Hoth Hangar Han Solo, Hoth Princess Leia and Dack Ralter.

Scroll on for a look at this wave both loose and carded.
