[HR][/HR]Sometimes big fun comes in small packages, and in the case of Mega Bloks, the truth can be found in their blind-packed assortment of Marvel Super Heroes now in its third series. I had no idea this was even a thing until I magically stumbled upon them one day, an entire box. I fought the temptations of buying the entire case but grabbed four just for kicks at $2.99 each, not bad. It sure beats buying an entire set just to get the figures. The only drawback, you don’t know what you’re gonna get.
Now before someone chimes in that there’s a way to cheat the system and figure out what’s in what pouch, I didn’t do that. I just felt up each one and made my purchase that way. My goal? The super rare Silver Surfer and Magneto. I succeeded in one of them.
Before I get any further, what’s in the entire set?

3. Stealth Spider-Man – Rare
4. Magneto – Common
5. Havok – Common
6. Iceman – Common
7. Mr. Fantastic – Common
8. Sandman – Common
Of the four I purchased, I managed Magneto, Havok, Iceman, and Mr. Fantastic.
If you haven’t known about these either, then yeah, there’s two previous waves that include characters from both the films and comics. LEGO ain’t the only one with a Marvel license but I think they both have their own parameters. LEGO has The Avengers while Mega Bloks has the other films prior, hence why you can get War Machine, Thor, Red Skull, etc.
The Mega Bloks micro figures are collectible in their own right and really fun to play with. They have way more points of articulation than your standard LEGO minifigure and sculpts that are more unique to the character.
For being such little tykes, the microfigures have about 12 points of articulation. Not bad for something smaller than a Hot Wheel! The limbs are all ball joints and snap on and off and offer a fair range of motion. Then there’s limbs, elbows, waist, and wrists.
All figures come with a building block base to stand upon but there are also other accessories that are also included, depending on the character. Mr. Fantastic came with an machine that can snap onto the block. Iceman came with ice hands, as did Havok with energy blasts that snap into his hands. Magneto came with a removable cape that plugs into his back as well as a metal shielf of some sort.
If you’re into all things mini, then you best be starting to hunt these down because I suspect they don’t last very long at the stores. Good luck!
