Play With This Too (playwiththistoo.com), a new company formed by toy industry professionals, has launched a new Kickstarter action figure project: Lost Protectors. Standing 6” tall, each figures’ joints are based on a ball joint system allowing for multiple parts swapping with other Lost Protector figures. The heads are also interchangeable and not only work with all Lost Protector figures and accessories, but also with numerous other 6” toy lines. Each figure also comes with 2 interchangeable sets of hands and at least 1 weapon. Every 6” figure features numerous 5mm ports to allow for multiple weapons swapping.
Included with several of the figures are 3" tall companions called Tech Drones. Tech Drones are assembled via 5mm ports/pegs, which allow the drones to disassemble and plug into the 6” figures as weapons or gear. The Tech Drone’s limbs are also interchangeable amongst themselves and the 5mm pegs allow them to work with numerous other action figure lines.
The Lost Protectors Kickstarter has an $80,000 goal with $60,743 already pledged and 13 days left to go. Should the project be successful, a pledge of $55 will get you one of three character figures: Desolataur (with Tech Drone D-Mon), Bloodbath (with Tech Drone D-Throne), and Catastropheles (with Tech Drone designed by Kickstarter backers). Of course these three initial figure offerings are just the beginning. Stretch Goals include tons of new characters, as well as swappable head packs ("Head Shots") and weapons.
