PHOTO REVIEW: NECA's Aliens Series 4

Sigourney Weaver Gets Her Action Figure Due...

NECA's fourth wave of action figures based on the ALIEN franchise has been released, the series continuing to celebrate the 35th anniversary of the film that started it all: 1979's Alien. Series 4 also marks a milestone for the line (and collectibles in general), introducing to the world the first-ever action figure featuring the officially approved likeness of actress Sigourney Weaver. Yes, figures of the actress have been released, but if you think back you'll quickly realize that those toys never had an accurate portrait. To take full advantage of this exciting occasion, this wave stars not one, but two Ellen Ripley action figures: the brave warrant officer wearing her Nostromo jumpsuit and equipped with a flamethrower, as well as the lone survivor seen at the end of the movie donning an emergency compression suit and armed with a harpoon gun. "Jonesy" the cat also makes his feline debut, a calm version of the tomcat packed with jumpsuit Ripley and an angry sculpt included with compression suit Ripley. For those that can't get enough of the Alien hero, Ripley as seen in 1986's Aliens joins the line in Series 5!

Captain Dallas wearing his Nostromo compression suit also debuts in Series 4. Dallas, along with compression suit Ripley, continue the use of NECA's phenomenal space suit sculpt introduced with Kane in Series 3 (read our review HERE). NECA's work on these compression suits never ceases to amaze me; the unique sci-fi outfits just ooze with ridiculous detail.

This is a hard wave to pick just one favorite. Ripley fans will be in figure heaven and Dallas is a must-have for fans of the gorgeous Nostromo space suit. Check out over 140 new photos of this incredible wave by following the link below!
