    SDCC15: Kotobukiya DC Comics

Bishoujo, ARTFX+, ARTFX, & Mini Figures Of Your Favorite Characters...

The Japanese statue and figure giant Kotobukiya had their usual fantastic mix of properties at San Diego Comic-Con this year, and their DC Comics display cases were particularly well-stocked with cool new and upcoming items. They’ve really focused on the Batman Family in the highly successful 1/10th scale ARTFX+ lineup, and joining the team in 2016 are Red Hood (Jason Todd) and Red Robin (Tim Drake) in January and March respectively. Drake was a brand new announcement with an early prototype standing next to the further along Todd.

While ARTFX+ started with the Justice League and continued with Batman’s allies, it’s never been quite as dark as it gets next year with the debut of the Forever Villains sub-series. It all starts in May with the first release and big daddy of DC Comics villains, Lex Luthor! The criminal mastermind appears in his iconic green and purple battlesuit ready to take on the Man of Steel.

Batman: Arkham Knight has been embraced by the video game world, and now players and collectors can get the unique character representations from it as ARTFX+ figures. Both Batman and the mysterious Arkham Knight are captured in active poses and come with a ton of elements to build dioramas through which they crash and fight. All of the parts are interchangeable and interconnected so you can build a super diorama with both figures together.

In the full-size classic ARTFX series Kotobukiya is adding a very popular character, the Flash. Barry Allen will arrive in December, running into your collection alongside previously released statues like Superman, Batman, and Wonder Woman.

Lastly, the Bishoujo DC collection continues with Black Canary in November and Raven in December. Then, new for 2016 will be a second version of fan-favorite Harley Quinn! There was only a placard on display but the silhouette revealed the iconic pigtails and sledgehammer.
