Cryptozoic + Don't Panic Games Acquire License for ATTACK ON TITAN Games Hit Anime Receives A Board Game... North American based Cryptozoic Entertainment (cryptozoic.com) and Europe based Don't Panic Games announce their collaboration on the acquisition of the Attack on Titan anime license to design and distribute board games internationally. A worldwide phenomenon, the Attack on Titan property began as a manga, with 50 million copies in print as of November 2014. Six of the seven English volumes spent time on The New York Times Manga best-seller list, volume one was listed for 81 weeks in a row. Attack on Titan’s success continued with the creation of the anime along with diverse licensed retail merchandise, eight video games and two anime films. In addition, the much anticipated Japanese release of two Attack on Titan films in August and September is generating excitement with movie trailers recently released. These two live-action films are also slated for distribution in the Americas. The first Attack on Titan board game, designed by award-winning game designers, Antoine Bauza and Ludovic Maublanc will be released internationally in 2016. In the game, one player takes on the role of a Titan while the others represent the human heroes fighting it. The game features a revolutionary game mechanic, the Titan piece is a vertical game board element and the hero game pieces climb in an effort to take him down. The initial board game prototypes will be demonstrated for the first time worldwide at Anime Expo in Los Angeles and Japan Expo in Paris, July 2-5.
