    SDCC14: Super7

    Gimps and Aliens, Oh My...

Comic-Con Preview Night (Wednesday, July 23) at the Super7 booth was pure chaos. If you had hopes of securing an exclusive Alien Egg Chamber Playset they were quickly dashed by the constant line cut-offs. Only the faithfully devoted got anything opening night. Swinging by the booth later in the show proved more successful, as there were no lines... and no more playsets. However, grabbing an Alien Mystery Egg or Gimp In The Box was a painless affair. The Gimp In The Box ReAction Figure is just what the name implies: a Gimp... in a box. Pretty cool collectible for Pulp Fiction fans. My co-worker David Yeh loves it.

I rolled the dice on the Alien Mystery ReAction Figure and got what I had hoped for: an ALIEN (black with speckled deco)! Other randomily packed figures included a clear translucent Alien, Ripley (clear and black), Ripley in space suit (clear and black) and Kane with a chesburster erupting from his chest (again, in clear and black). Not the crazy color schemes I had expected (a hot pink Alien would have been hilariously cool), but I was quite happy with my purchase and the thrill of the hunt. The egg "packaging" is quite large and constructed solidly in dense plastic. It makes for a great display piece, especially with the Alien perched on top (which features a handy peg to secure your figure on to).

Check out new photos of the Gimp and Alien in our gallery below, along with Comic-Con photos from the Super7 booth! Oh, and for those that missed out on the SDCC'14 exclusive Alien Egg Chamber Playset, pre-orders are now open at super7store.com for a "Black Box Edition". The difference between the two is that the exclusive's base was cast in resin and it features retro Kenner box art. The Black Box Edition is cast in plastic and comes in... a black box.
