LEGO Star Wars has been a popular hit with both young and old alike for over a decade and the latest DVD release of LEGO Star Wars: Droid Tales continues that tradition of fun beyond the toys. Droid Tales takes place following Return of the Jedi as the rebels celebrate on Endor with the Ewoks, C-3PO is tasked with telling stories of his war adventures. 3PO takes us back to the events of Episode I: The Phantom Menace but of course since this is his retelling, not all of it has to follow the movies to the letter. Instead, each episode (5 in all) pokes fun at all Star Wars films in jest, as if it was made for fans by fans (Jar Jar Binks suffers a terrible fate multiple times throughout the series).
Each episode has C-3PO and even Admiral Ackbar going on an adventure where he is stopped to tell yet another story of the Star Wars films. Even Star Wars Rebels characters make an appearance. While there are no extras or bonus features, the episodes clock in at about 115 minutes and the DVD does come with a pack of Star Wars trading cards.

LEGO Star Wars: Droid Tales features familiar voice talent such as Anthony Daniels as C-3PO, Billy Dee Williams as Lando Calrissian and many other familiar voices from the Clone Wars and Rebels. If you loved The LEGO Movie, Droid Tales has the same sense of humor. It's a lot of fun and you definitely will have to buy some Star Wars LEGO sets when you're through.
