A few days ago we took a look at what WETA had on display from the awesome movie Chappie at San Diego Comic-Con, but there was even more robotic fun around the corner at the Gentle Giant booth. Last year we covered the announcement of their epic 1/4 scale Chappie Scout 22 statue ($500, available now), but for all of us fans not ready to drop that much money Gentle Giant has a fun and cute alternative: the Chappie Chibi! Capturing the unique look of the TetraVaal robot in a super deformed style, this 3 ½ inch tall figure portrays Chappie as he looked after his transformation at the hands of “Mommy” and “Daddy” with bling, spray painted highlights, and even his throwing star. Look for Chibi Chappie in specialty stores next year.
