Mattel’s big announcements this year may be the Batman vs. Superman movie items and Thundercats, but the company is still producing DC Comics items too. At San Diego Comic-Con 2015 we saw a huge variety of 12 inch figures perfect for kids along with the continuing Batman Unlimited toy line with the Caped Crusader getting dino/animal allies and enemies in the new animated films. I was most interested in finding out about the 4” Multiverse line. Sadly, other than a few store exclusives this line will be halted in 2015. Mattel is keeping the door open for more figures in this scale in the future, but nothing more is planned currently.

However, where the 4” door is closing the 6” is reopening with an all new Multiverse line! The first series, coming out in early 2016, will bring new versions of the Joker from the comics and two figures sprinting out of the CW Flash show: the Flash and Reverse-Flash! These figures are highly detailed and well-articulated, and they have come with pieces of the Collect and Connect Justice Buster!

Mattel is also slowly bringing out more Batman ’66 figures like the SDCC first Batgirl and Ultimate Batcave with Batman, and even more comic fun can be found in Hot Wheels and the new collaboration with Thomas the Train.

Must have that Joker!

And if I could find the '66 Batgirl for a decent price I'd buy her too.
