Yes Anime really does it all from importing amazing products from overseas to creating unique and highly sought after items on their own. Among the latter was a prototype statue debuted at New York Toy Fair 2015: DMC! Rap and hip hop fans know Darryl McDaniels as one half of Run-D.M.C., and last year he wrote the comic book DMC under his imprint Darryl Makes Comics. The titular hero of the story is a badass in a tracksuit and ADIDAS with his moniker imprinted on his massive collar and brass knuckles. Coming this summer is an 8 inch vinyl statue of DMC from Yes Anime, created directly from the comic artwork by Felipe Smith (Ghost Rider). In addition to its unique look, this statue is going to have quite a release pattern. Yes Anime is (tentatively) going to have a limited edition run of 500 statues sold in the U.S. and an additional 2,000 units for worldwide distribution. Here’s the kicker, though: each country will have its own allotment, and each statue’s base and package will have its edition number AND country of origin! Completionists will then be able to collect DMCs from all around the world, each distinct from its brothers. Yes Anime is looking at about a $55 price tag for the American run and anywhere between $60 and $64 for international depending on the number of statues allocated to the country.
