One of the announcements just before New York Toy Fair that got a lot of us at Figures.com excited was DC Collectibles’ new 6 inch figure line called “Icons.” Though it shares the overall branding of their statue line, this new series is a whole new animal and frankly what we’re seeing is pretty darn impressive. On display at Toy Fair was a selection from the first couple waves of these figures featuring Green Arrow, Batman, Deadman, Mister Miracle, Flash, Blue Beetle (Jaime Reyes), Lex Luthor, Hal Jordan Green Lantern, Black Adam, Superman, Aquaman, Harley Quinn, and Atomica. If that lineup alone doesn’t get you excited, add to it that these figures cover both pre- and New 52 versions of your favorite characters, feature great sculpts, and come with incredible accessories and alternate parts like Flash’s Cosmic Treadmill, an angry heat vision head for Superman, two shrinking Atoms with Atomica, power armor parts for Green Lantern, Harley’s gags, and more. Probably the coolest thing is the “possession” effect that Deadman brings, letting him take over your other 6 inch figures! Look for these to start releasing later this year for $25 each (more for the deluxe Green Lantern).
