2000 AD presents DREDD: Urban Warfare, the first collection of official comic book sequels to the cult hit movie DREDD.
DREDD: Urban Warfare is an uncompromising collection that asks some difficult questions of the pared-down dystopia that was Alex Garland’s take on Judge Dredd’s world, while appealing to fans of both. Both the US and UK editions are hardcovers and will be released in the same week – February 10 for the US and February 12 for the UK.
Featuring three stories set in the world created by acclaimed screenwriter Alex Garland, Urban Warfare is written by Arthur Wyatt and Matt Smith, and features the stunning artwork of Henry Flint (Alien Isolation) and Paul Davidson (X-Men Legacy).
The collection continues the adventures of cinema’s meanest future cop with the jaw-dropping origin story of movie villain Ma-Ma, as well as two stories that expand the future dystopia beyond the walls of Peach Trees movement known as Uprise stokes the flames of dissent.
In Underbelly, Dredd and Anderson tackle a new drugs craze that has arisen since the fall of the Ma-Ma clan, but which has an even more sinister operation. And in Uprise, tensions in the neglected sector of Mega-City One known as The Spit are reaching boiling point as the shiny new mega-block Oemling Tower is constructed for those that can afford to live in it. As the Judges face running battles with rioters, the underground.
