First 4 Figures has had a long history with Nintendo, bringing numerous franchises from one of gaming’s biggest companies to life, including Super Mario, Metroid and The Legend of Zelda. Now they are bringing yet another one of Nintendo’s iconic series to the high-end collectible market in another brand new range of collectibles: Kirby! Kicking off this brand new range is Sword Kirby.
Kirby’s sword persona debuted in the 1993 game Kirby’s Adventure, and has since become one of his most popular of his many, many personas he’s had throughout his history. In First 4 Figures' statue, Kirby is sculpted swinging his sword upwards in a vertical swipe, leaving a bright streak behind in its wake. Like many other First 4 Figures statues, an exclusive variant of Sword Kirby is available, where Kirby's blue sword streak is illuminated through use of LED lighting.
Sword Kirby is expected to be released in Q1 2015. The Exclusive edition of Sword Kirby - limited to only 850 pieces worldwide - is priced at $239.99. The regular edition will be more widely available, but will still be limited to 2000 pieces worldwide. This version has an RRP of $219.99. Both Sword Kirby statues are available for pre-order now through first4figures.com.
