Work In Progress: Unpainted Prototype Shown
TohoKingdom.com (http://www.tohokingdom.com/) has received a first look at NECA's upcoming Godzilla (2014) action figures. These include the previously mentioned 6" tall Godzilla (12" long: Head-To-Tail) (painted prototype HERE (http://www.tohokingdom.com/news/2014/03-17_neca_godzilla2014_12htt_24htt.html?utm_campaign =gozillareveal&utm_source=necafbgplus&utm_medium=social)) and 12" tall Godzilla (24" long: Head-To-Tail) (unpainted prototype pictured above). Both figures are slated for release this May in conjunction with the movie, the smaller 'zilla priced at a SRP of $21.99 while the larger King of Monsters at a SRP of $49.99. I asked Randy Falk about the tail on the larger Godzilla figure and just how articulated it is. He replied that the tail is ball-jointed (24" HTT version only) and can pose or bend all over. Great news for those fearing they'd need a 24-inch deep display shelf!
The new Godzilla film is set to be released on May 16, 2014.
NECA also has the license to classic Godzilla figures. Currently only different versions of Godzilla's many screen looks are planned (no kaiju), the first classic assortment hitting retail this June and consisting of a Godzilla from 1994′s Godzilla vs. SpaceGodzilla and another from Godzilla 1985 (AKA The Return of Godzilla). The figures will stand over 6″ tall, with a head-to-tail measurement of over 12″ long and nearly 30 points of articulation.
