Alert reader Aaron Egawa informs us of a great new toy find at his local Costco wholesale club: a new 31" Deluxe Darth Vader. Unlike the standard version (https://www.figures.com/forums/news/25052-tf13-jakks-super-sizes-star-wars.html) from JAKKS, this deluxe version features interchangeable hand pieces - fisted (like the regular version) and one clutching a new red lightsaber, as well as a new sound feature. According to the Costco website (http://www.costco.com/31%22-Deluxe-Darth-Vader-with-Lightsaber.product.100054011.html?catalogId=10701&keyword=Darth+Vader&langId=-1&storeId=10301), Vader utters:

2 Spoken Phrases: "The Force is strong with this one" and "You don't know the power of the dark side"
3 Sounds: Darth Vader breathing, Light Saber turning on, Light Saber being waved around

The 31" Deluxe Darth Vader is priced at $29.99, which is an incredible deal considering that the version without sound also costs $29.99 at Walmart and Target (or a whopping $39.99 at TRU!).

Thanks to Aaron Egawa for the pics and info!

Thanks Jeff, Great write-up. Walmart must have changed the price because they were $39.95 last time I was in and I'm pretty sure Toys R Us was $49.95 last time I was in our local stores in Vegas!

Oh, I'm sure they are still priced that high at some store locations. I went by their online prices - it's smart to shop around :) Eitherway, for the same price or less you're definitely better off with the deluxe version.
