Opting not to begin an Adventure Time review by asking "what time it is" is no easy feat! But you all know the time because Cartoon Network’s insanely hilarious and successful show Adventure Time has a brand new release today. No, it’s not season three, but it’s close and definitely good enough to tide you over. Adventure Time: Jake the Dad - the brand new compilation DVD release - includes sixteen amazing episodes from seasons four and five PLUS a super cool must-have Jake hat. Fans who picked up last year’s release of Adventure Time: Jake vs Me-Mow received a must-have Finn hat.
Included as a bonus feature within the DVD is a “Little Did You Know” featurette that provides some background on each of Jake’s puppies. And while the DVD release is titled “Jake the Dad”, it only refers to one of the episodes included in the set out of the sixteen. What’s great is that they don’t attempt to trick you into buying a DVD without knowing the episodes included, they put it right there on the packaging for you to see. And since the only complete DVD seasons we’ve seen are for Seasons One and Two, it might be a while before they even get to season four and five.
