Gears of War To Test New Figure Size Early Next Year...

NECA, best known for their detailed 7-inch scale action figures, has announced plans to experiment with 3 3/4 inch starting with Gears of War early next year. Pre-orders at BigBadToyStore.com (http://www.bigbadtoystore.com/bbts/product.aspx?product=NEC12045&mode=retail) reveal this February 2013 assortment to include the same characters presented in the first 7" Gears of War 3 wave: Marcus, Baird and Carmine.
NECA's Head of Product Development Randy Falk stresses that this 3 3/4" series will not replace their popular 7-inch action figure scale - including 7" Gears of War - stating that the 3 3/4" assortment "is an addition, an expansion. There is a new 7" Baird coming from Judgment as well. Both lines will coexist."
NECA is looking at the possibility of testing another license in this new 3 3/4" scale, but no specifics have been announced. They have, however, ruled out 3 3/4" Predator, Randy Falk saying "No way we will do Predator at that scale. It's too tough to deco at 8" size. Going smaller is not a good idea for that license."
So what are your thoughts on this new size? Is the thought of Gears of War characters co-mingling with your GI Joes and Star Wars figures a good thing? As long as we keep getting 7 inch figures, I'm all for the experiment.
