NECA has stated from the get-go that Team Fortress 2 action figures of Demo, Heavy, Pyro and Soldier were all in the works. They just hadn't decided which two characters would see release first. In an official announcement today, TF2's Pyro and Demoman will mark the first two action figures come January 2013. Both figures will stand more than 6.5" tall and have over 25 points of articulation. They will come armed with their trademark weapons: grenade launcher with Demo and flamethrower for Pyro. Best of all, each figure will include special in-game codes to unlock features as a part of Team Fortress 2. NECA is keeping these unlocks a secret for now, saying you’ll just have to play the game and pick up the figures to find out.

Both Pyro and Demo will be limited edition figure releases - 10,000 of each produced in Team RED colors. If the demand is strong enough, NECA will follow-up with Team BLU colors.

I gotta say I don't like them limiting these figures. To me it makes no sense and it will only drive up the price later on. And you know people will only be buying these figures for the code. The TF2 "Hat" Fanbase is crazy like that.

And I know NECA has been doing this a lot lately but they don't need to test the water with these figures. Valve merch, particularly TF2 figures WILL SELL. So just start producing the entire cast and skip the "wait and see" phase.
