Round 2 and Captain Action Enterprises announce the release of two more Marvel costume sets as part of the ongoing Captain Action toy line. The Classic Cover Series offers variant 1/6 scale costumes that celebrate special covers from the rich history of Marvel Comics.
The Captain America Classic Cover costume set spotlights the golden age with covers by Joe Simon & Jack Kirby, Ken Bald and Syd Shores. During these golden age stories, Captain America’s shield had two extra stripes and this variant shield will be included in the costume set. Four Classic Cover postcards each featuring a golden age cover will also be included.
The Mighty Thor, God of Thunder Classic Cover costume set showcases the classic 80’s series of adventures of Walt Simonson. At that time, after a devastating battle with the vicious Hela, Thor grew a beard to hide his unsightly wounds. This set will also include four postcards featuring classic covers by Walt Simonson.
“For this holiday season, we're really excited to offer these Classic Cover costume sets. We think these will appeal to not only our dedicated collectors, but to families and young fans." said Dan Sabato, Director of Marketing at Round 2.
“We’re toy fans and comic fans, and we’re exceedingly pleased to bring these passions together with the Classic Covers series, “ said Joe Ahearn of Captain Action Enterprises. “The authenticity and eye for detail will just thrill comic fans –especially those who love the Golden Age or the Bronze Age.”
The Cover Classic Series will only be offered in the basic format and will available at Toys"R"Us, hobby shops and comic shops in late October.
