This month's release of NECA's first Portal 2 prop replica, the Aperture Science Handheld Portal Device, has left many collectors pleased as punch... and just as many disappointed that they missed out on the fast-selling unit. 5,000 pieces sell-out quick when it comes to millions of Portal fans, so NECA as hatched a plan to try and make everyone happy. Presenting a new Portal Device replica based on P-body's Aperture Handheld Portal Device.

Looking to arrive this summer, P-body's Portal Gun features:

- 5000 units will be made
- Lights are Orange and Red
- Replica shell features yellow racing stripes
- Sounds and trigger action will remain the same as the original Portal device

So essentially it's exactly the same as the original with yellow stripes down the middle; sugar coat it all you like but that's basically the jist. At first I was rather annoyed NECA had sold out and was releasing another 5,000, but that doesn't bother me now. This will never be quite like the original nor have the same attraction as the original and to be honest this sold so quickly it's no surprise NECA found they could making a killing on them so hell, it's only natural they make more, they are a profitable organisation after all.

Yup. I look at it as good news for those that missed the first run. Though I'm not sure why everyone is surprised: I stated back at Toy Fair (see my story HERE (https://www.figures.com/forums/news/14950-tf12-valve-properties.html)) that NECA would release P-body AND Atlas (yet to be announced) versions of this gun (though the edition size went up from 2000 pieces each to 5000).

For the record, I actually like the yellow stripes on this one better - adds some pizzazz to it:)
