Nickeloeon's hit 'toon SpongeBob SquarePants will be receiving new Mezco collectibles this year, including action figures, mini figures and a bobblehead. The figure series will launch this summer with 4-inch scale figures of:

* SpongeBob - Comes with display base, Krusty Krab hat, Krabby Patty, and spatula.

* Patrick - SpongeBob's best pal comes with a jellyfish, a jellyfishing net, and a display base.

* Mr Krabbs - SpongeBob’s cranky boss comes complete with alternate $ eyes, a miniature secret recipe bottle, and a display base.

Series 2, due out this November, will star Sandy, Squidward and a new SpongeBob. Also in November, fans can look forward to a SpongeBob Bobblehead (Bob-Bob, catchy). 2013 will usher in an all-new mini figure assortment.

I've been a fan of the show ever since I was a wee lad (the first three seasons rocked) but I've never really looked into merchandise for it, specifically action figures. To my knowledge no company has produced a solid toy line, or at least to a quality that I would deem collectible.

Mezco, of all companies, seems to be changing that. They nailed the cartoon style of the show and I love those textures.

Bummed that they're only 4" but that should mean they'll be a bit cheaper. And the accessories only add to the excitement. I hope they continue the line past the main characters as the cast is extensive. I would love to see a Fred the Fish figure with a sound chip that yells "MY LEG!!" :D

Can't wait for these to drop. I need to pick up old Squiddy there!
