Alert Gearheads noticed awhile ago that a new Gears of War 3 Marcus Fenix action figure was being offered for pre-order by Play.com. The UK-based retailer was advertising this as a San Diego Comic-Con exclusive and described the figure as being a variant with no upper body armor and packing a Gold Lancer. NECA quickly addressed the situation announcing that this was not the case, that the figure would NOT be a Comic-Con exclusive as originally planned, but would be released at a later date due to EPIC's wishes to keep the figure's look under wraps.
New details have emerged revealing that the figure, now called "Journey's End" Marcus Fenix, will now be exclusive to the video game chain GameStop. Because the figure's look is a special unlockable skin from the upcoming Gears of War 3 game, a full reveal hasn't been shown yet to avoid spoilers. GameStop is now accepting pre-orders, the figure priced at $14.99 and scheduled to ship September 20, 2011 in conjunction with Gears of War 3. This figure will also be offered in the UK.
