The July edition of Diamond Comic Distributors’ PREVIEWS catalog arrives in comic shops, hobby stores, and other direct market outlets on June 29 and features comic books, graphic novels, toys, and additional pop culture products scheduled to go on sale beginning September 2011.

The front cover of the July PREVIEWS showcases DC Comics’ JUSTICE LEAGUE #1 (pictured above), the introduction to the New DC Universe launching in September. Befitting a book that tells the tale of what led Batman, Superman, Wonder Woman, Aquaman, Green Lantern, and The Flash to form this super-team, the debut issue comes from two industry giants – writer Geoff Johns and artist Jim Lee. DC is also offering this comic in a special combo pack edition, featuring a polybagged copy along with a redemption code for a digital download of the issue.

While DC Comics begins a new era in September, Image Comics/Top Cow Productions are bringing an era of their own to a close with the release of the landmark 150th issue of WITCHBLADE, the focus of PREVIEWS’ back cover (below). For years, writer Ron Marz and artist Stjepan Sejic have guided the life of Detective Sara Pezzini, the bearer of the Witchblade, exploring how the supernatural weapon is both a gift and a curse. Now their definitive run on the title comes to an end in a story that may see Pezzini finally forced to choose between her life as a detective and continuing on with the Witchblade.
