Weta announces that they will be releasing a new range of collectibles for Paramount Pictures' motion capture animated film, The Adventures of Tintin. A 1:6 scale statue of Captain Haddock is the first product to be launched in this line, with pre-orders currently being accepted at wetanz.com. Standing 11.8" tall and weighing in at 2.2lbs, the sculpture is scheduled to ship 4th quarter 2011 priced at $199. No more than 2,000 are being produced.

It stars Jamie Bell (Billy Elliot, Defiance) as Tintin, the intrepid young reporter whose relentless pursuit of a good story thrusts him into a world of high adventure, and Daniel Craig (Quantum of Solace, Defiance) as the nefarious Red Rackham. The Adventures of Tintin opens in theaters December 23rd, 2011.
