With excitement building up for the release of Gears of War 3, I thought it'd be fun to take a look back at the series of action figures that started it all. Released back in May 2008, NECA's Gears of War Series 1 introduced fans to a balanced mix of core COG characters and a sampling of the evil Locust Horde. As amazingly detailed as these were, articulation was at first a tad awkward. This quickly changed in following assortments equaling a figure line that moved as good as they looked. With the release of Gears of War 3 figures this fall, NECA will continue to improve the line with not only increased articulation - the most seen in one of their toy lines - but with joints better concealed with the figure sculpt.
